Nigerians, I welcome you to the lunching of this blog page http://emercipatenigerianow.blogspot.com/ and community meant for Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora. A page that will address social injustices and add to the voices calling for Emancipation from ills that tends to move our great country backward and put our future generations at risk. It is time to emancipate ourselves from the bondage, corruption, violence, social injustice and immoral value and other negative vices here in Nigeria. Our leaders have failed, since independence, to move this great nation forward. Look at the resources that abound in this country? What have we achieved of it, who has it benefited and what are we planning with it. Rather, It makes political sense to our politician to divide us, thus keeping us from coming together and speaking with one voice. We need this one voice to constantly remind our leaders to do our bidding of which we have elected them to do. Our future depend on this if we must move forward. Nigerians, we have in turned only complained and lamented more and more daily and our voice is yet to be heard. It is time to stop complaining and lamenting, it is time to be heard thought whatever other peaceful means possible. We must let our leaders know that we are dissatisfied with the present situation of violence, unemployment, hunger, discrimination, and poor infrastructure and non availability of basic utilities for Nigerian, mismanagement of our resources. In addition to this, Nigerians are been embarrassed world wide by our actions outside. Moral values have been eroded thus our youth no longer feel the urge to protect the integrity of this great nation. They have refused to become good ambassadors of this great nation and our governments and leader are doing noting about it. They will not because they and there family alone are protected against it but we the common citizens who have to queue to obtain our visa are at the blunt end of it all. We are constantly denied visas and embarrassed at the embassies. Further more, our education had seriously nose dived since independence, what our fathers enjoyed like free education, government sponsorship to prestigious universities within and outside, employment opportunities, training opportunities are no longer available. Rather, ASUU strikes, indiscriminate hike in fees, improper admission to qualified people are the order of the day, and inadequate provision of books and other basic utility that will see our children through school from the elementary to the advance are larking in our schools today. The budgetary allocation to education is inadequate and UNESCO suggests 26% of total budget should be allocated to Education. This is a small percentage, yet we are not even close to it.
We must unite to let our voices be heard, we must EMANCIPATE ourselves starting today, Emancipate Nigeria NOW. We must “Pledge to Nigeria, My Country”, and “Arise O Compatriots, Nigeria Call Obey”. The flag Green White Green must be our shield and cover and our coat of arm, a plaque engraved into our hearts. We must be able to hold our heads high and say I am proud to be a Nigerian. I be OMO NAIJA, any where in the world.
Nigerian, you are called to Emancipate yourselves, your generation and the future generation. Emancipate Nigeria today, tomorrow and forever. It must begin with ME and YOU. It has began with ME and YOU. Emancipate Nigeria NOW. Thank you and God Bless.
THIS PAGE IS UNFORTUNATELY MEANT FOR NIGERIANS TO COMMENT ON. IT IS A FORUM FOR NIGERIANS TO AIR THERE COMMENTS ON NIGERIAN ISSUES. NIGERIANS AT HOME AND IN THE DIASPORA ARE ENCOURAGED TO COMMENT. I APOLOGIZE TO MY FOREIGN FRIENDS ESPECIALLY FROM KENYA, THEY CAN ONLY VIEW AND LEARN FROM IT. I SUGGEST THAT YOU ALSO CREATE A SIMILAR PAGE TO ADDRESS SOCIAL INJUSTICES IN YOU COUNTRY TOO.
